Jacob's Ladder is an SAIS-SACS accredited, SB-10 approved private school, serving students Pre-K through twelfth grade with any kind of neurological disorder - from Down syndrome and Cerebral Palsy to a range of learning disabilities and genetic disorders - although 60% of students have been diagnosed with Autism. They also offer the Jacob's Ladder Model of Intervention in their Therapy Center on an hourly basis.
TCP works with JLNSTC's "Openings" class, a small group of teenagers who express mid-high functioning levels of autism. We hope to use photography, printmaking, and ceramics to build their artistic and academic skills, as well as to encourage healthy social interaction with themselves and the environment.

Service Learning through PRINTMAKING and CERAMICS: Random Acts of Kindness Charitable Arts Projects
Under the guidance and instruction of TCP resident artists, students brainstormed and collaborated to determine how the art created during the school year would support local causes.
Students created designs for tshirts, learned how to screen print, and printed shirts for a local charity of their choice. Students created care packages including the shirts to deliver to children in a foster care facility. Extra shirts were created and sold to raise funds for future programming support.
The students were learning about endangered species in their classroom and chose animal advocacy for their second charitable arts project. This arts programing enabled them to further engage with the local community as they created items to donate to a local animal shelter such as water bowls, pull toys, and collar charms.
